If people can't use it correctly, take away the word, "myself."
It isn't hard; consider this:

My friends and I want to use good grammar.
NOT My friends and myself want to use good grammar.
You can easily check the use this way: eliminate "My friends and I" leaving "myself want to use good grammar."
